The Great Sandy Biosphere Reserve – more than 874,000ha of land and a marine area of more than 542,000ha – adjoins the Noosa Biosphere Reserve. It is home to almost 50% of Australia’s bird species... and about 7500 species of fauna and flora, and has more marine fish diversity than the Great Barrier Reef.
